1. Who we are
iSmartKid is a learning platform for children, operated by Lacspace Corporation Pvt. Ltd. (“Lacspace”, “we”, “us”), with offices in Kathmandu, Nepal and Delhi, India.
This policy explains what information we collect through the iSmartKid website and apps, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It is written for parents and guardians, because children use iSmartKid through an account their parent or guardian controls.
2. Information we collect
From parents and guardians
- Your name, email address and, optionally, phone number.
- Your password, which we store only in hashed form.
- Your plan, billing status and payment reference numbers.
- Messages you send us through forms or email.
About children
- A first name or nickname, an age band and a chosen avatar. We do not ask for a child’s email address, phone number, photo or location.
- Learning activity: lessons watched, quiz answers, stars and badges, and code written in coding exercises.
Automatically
- Basic technical data such as IP address, device and browser type, used to keep the service secure, prevent abuse (for example, rate limiting forms) and fix problems.
- A small number of essential cookies, described in Cookies below.
Payments: card, UPI and wallet details are entered directly with our payment partners (Razorpay in India, eSewa in Nepal). We never see or store your full card number or UPI PIN.
3. How we use information
- To create and run accounts and child profiles.
- To show learning progress to the parent and adapt lessons to the child’s age.
- To process subscriptions, refunds and receipts.
- To reply to messages and send service emails (such as sign-in codes and receipts).
- To send our newsletter, only if you subscribed. Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link.
- To keep iSmartKid safe, secure and working, and to improve our lessons.
We do not sell personal data. We do not show ads, and we do not use children’s data for advertising or behavioural profiling.
4. Children's privacy and parental consent
iSmartKid is designed for children aged 3 to 14. Accounts are created and managed by a parent or legal guardian aged 18 or over, who gives consent for their child to use iSmartKid. Children cannot create accounts on their own.
We collect only what a child needs to learn on iSmartKid. Children have no public profile and no open chat, and purchases and links outside the app sit behind a parental gate. We follow applicable child-data laws, including India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and Nepal’s Individual Privacy Act, 2018.
If you believe a child is using iSmartKid without a parent’s consent, contact compliance@lacspace.com and we will remove the data.
7. How long we keep information
We keep account and learning data while the account is active. When you delete an account, we delete or anonymise its personal data within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep records, for example payment and tax records, which we keep for the period the law sets. Contact form messages are kept for up to 2 years.
8. Your rights and choices
As a parent or guardian, you can ask us to:
- Give you a copy of the information we hold about you or your child.
- Correct information that is wrong.
- Delete your account or a child profile.
- Withdraw consent, which closes the child’s profile.
- Stop sending you the newsletter, at any time.
Email compliance@lacspace.com from the address on your account. We will verify the request and respond within 30 days.
9. Security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access controls and audit logs to protect information. No system is perfectly secure. If you find a vulnerability, please report it to security@lacspace.com.
10. Grievance officer
For any privacy concern or complaint, contact our Grievance Officer at compliance@lacspace.com, Lacspace Corporation Pvt. Ltd.. We acknowledge complaints within 72 hours.
11. Changes to this policy
If we make important changes, we will tell parents by email or in the app before they take effect. See also our Terms of Service and Child Safety commitments.
